How do we show Integrity ?

We had a assembly talk on Integrity on 24 July . We learned that having integrity means being honest & choosing to do the right thing and making right decisions even when nobody is watching.

I am glad that the studenst in the class are able to understand what "INTEGRITY" means to them. They have shared what they learned about integrity in their reflection sheets. Here , I share some of the best work submitted.

Fun with Fractions

Fractions was one of my favourite topics when I was a student. So I was excited to teach this topic & look forward to sharing my knowledge with the class.

I noticed how the little ones are easily engaged and delighted just by giving them the fraction discs as manipulative. They were tasked to compare the sizes of these unlike fraction pieces & sort them out by arranging them  in order of size .

Our class went on a learning journey to Jurong Bird park on 24 July 2012. This learning journey is part of the children's holistic assessment for English this term. They will be required to create their individual photostory using the photostory software .

We were thankful that the weather was fine that day. It was a tiring but fun day of outing for all of us.

Special thanks to Miss Eunice Chew and Mrs Loh ( Chuan Kit's mum) who came along with our class. Some of the photos taken below were also captured by Mrs Loh.

I look forward to seeing the children's photostories when they are ready.

Class Party

The class had a class party to celebrate the last day of school in Semester 1. It was a treat for the children for working hard in the first semester. Thank you parents for all the food contributions. The children had a great time bonding with their friends and enjoying the food too.

Term 3 Sports & Games for PAL

This term, our class is scheduled for Sports & Games under the school PAL programme.
The children will be doing Gynamnastics. Hence, they have to learn to follow the instructors' instructions carefully in order to complete the programme safely.

In the first lesson, they were taught the following:

1. How to work as a pair to carry the mat correctly 
2. Work in groups of 4 to perform the Pencil Roll (log Roll) and Rocking Chair Movment
3. Comment & help their team members improve their movements

It is wonderful to see the children working well in teams and taking turns on the mat.
The children also learn about appreciating diversity and respect for others. They learnt how to encourage their team members who were not able to perform the movements well.

Personally, I enjoyed watching Uwais complete the movements. He handles all the movements with ease due to his lean built. It was great watching his confidence level rise.

Parents, please remind your child not to try any of these movements as home as these movements were  done under the close supervision of the professional instructors.
